pv panels

Know of a good model for determining ROI of purchasing solar panels? How they compare to other investments?

Posted by admin on March 26, 2011 at 4:06 am

I’d like to compare buying panels to buying mutual funds, lending money, etc. with a way to alter rebate, PV specs, etc. Sure, use the NPV function in Excel. set up two equations, one that have the capital of the panels (and any other costs you will incur over 5 years or so) along with [...]

What is the environmental cost of solar panels?

Does anybody know whether the environmental damage, caused in the production of solar pv’s, offsets the environmental benefits? Any info appreciated! SOLAR panels are a cheaper way of protecting the environment. addthis_url = ‘http%3A%2F%2Fphotovoltiacsolarpanels.com%2Fpv-panels%2Fwhat-is-the-environmental-cost-of-solar-panels’; addthis_title = ‘What+is+the+environmental+cost+of+solar+panels%3F’; addthis_pub = ”;

What improvements are needed to make pv Solar Installations better?

Posted by admin on March 22, 2011 at 2:56 am

If you own a pv solar system, or you do solar installations, or you provide solar equipment, what problem needs to be solved most urgently? If you could tell an inventor to develop something to solve any problem of your choice what would it be? Do not include any improvements to the solar panel or [...]

What is your opinion on using a photovoltaic system to offset/eliminate the cost of buying grid power?

Posted by admin on March 20, 2011 at 6:41 am

I’m taking a poll on the attitudes of consumers towards alternative energy, namely solar energy. A photovoltaic system converts sunlight into electricity. At current, the efficiency rating of most commercially available panels is somewhere between 15-19% depending on the type you buy. An efficiency rating is a measurement of how much of the available sunlight [...]

Is there any instance when a penny stock makes sense?

Posted by admin on March 18, 2011 at 9:02 am

I’ve had my eye on OEGY (Open Energy Corp.) for a little while. I know that conventional wisdom is that penny stocks are almost always a losing proposition, but with renewable energy – especially solar – sure to be a huge stake in our energy future, would it be advisable to take a chance on [...]

Need help with number of PV solar panels…please help me out !?

I’m working on a project/proposal of a solar panel for my school. To conserve the environment, money isn’t a problem since school got loads xD My proposal is just to prove that usage of solar panels is more greener…For this i’m stuck at a place where i have to decide how many panels i’ll be [...]

How do I start my own photovoltaic company?

Posted by admin on March 10, 2011 at 10:18 pm

I wuold like to get PV panels and grid tied inverters from suppliers (directly). I have been unable to get suppliers from the manufactuer they keep sending me to the whole seller. (Hence higher costs) Do you know how I can get a deal with manufactuers directly. Like Sharp / SMA etc etc. I don’t [...]

What conductive wire is the best to get the most out of a PV solar panel?

Posted by admin on March 8, 2011 at 7:50 pm

huh? copper is the most conductive wire in common use. The wire type is not the issue, all wires are made of copper. What matters is thickness, size of the wire, length, and the proper insulation. . addthis_url = ‘http%3A%2F%2Fphotovoltiacsolarpanels.com%2Fpv-panels%2Fwhat-conductive-wire-is-the-best-to-get-the-most-out-of-a-pv-solar-panel’; addthis_title = ‘What+conductive+wire+is+the+best+to+get+the+most+out+of+a+PV+solar+panel%3F’; addthis_pub = ”;
